Director Norman O’Neill
Biomass and firewood
Norman O’Neill has 30 years’ experience in forest management following graduation from Aberdeen University in 1981.
Norman joined the company in 1999, was promoted to Director in 2004 and was appointed Managing Director in 2017.
He takes overall responsibility for all the company’s activities, with the majority of his time spent active in the Estate Management and Woodfuel divisions. Norman has responsibility for forest management on many commercial and native woodland properties throughout Scotland.
With direct responsibility for RTS’s Woodfuel development and operations, including production and sale of conditioned woodchips and firewood, Norman has led the company’s significant investment in biomass production. This culminated in the commissioning of three additional biomass boilers in 2017 to support the expansion of the company’s biomass processing and drying facilities.
